An experimental scientist is curious by nature.
Complex formula are one thing to learn, laying one's hand on the material is another.
Although the theory behind Magnetic Resonance Imaging is something which i find fascinating, being a non-electrical engineer, I find it hard to summarize it in a few sentences.
Therefore, when a group of undergrad student knock at the lab's door (or should I say, get blocked at the pathogen free barrier), it is of far better common interest to lay our hands on the system directly.
After a few playing around with the parameter, we could finally produce a rather nice image of one student's finger.
Imaging one's finger is nothing unusual in the clinic, it is done on an every day basis, but imaging one student's finger on a high field small animal MRI system is another game to play.
We made it to the Image of the Month in April, and we are running for the Image of the Year competition in the lab.
With this blog, I will try to upload and display more high field images from my side activities.
Cheers
